Molasses Popcorn Balls

 

 

Ingredients: 

  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ¼ tsp vinegar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ Tbsp butter
  • 6 cup popped corn 

Steps: 

Combine molasses, sugar, water, vanilla, vinegar, and salt; cook slowly without stirring to 270 degrees on a candy thermometer or when small quantity dropped into water separates into threads. Remove from heat; add in butter, stirring only sufficient to mix. Pour over popped corn, stirring constantly. Shape lightly and quickly into balls.
