Place your order before 11:00 AM CST for live crawfish to ship the same day and typically arrive by noon in most areas via FedEx Priority Next Day.

Shipping & Permit Guidelines
We ship this Louisiana crawfish to the lower 48 states, except where prohibited. Live crawfish cannot be sent to Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, or Minnesota without a permit (Minnesota only allows boiled crawfish with a permit). Oregon customers must acquire a Crayfish Transport Permit from the ODFW website or by calling (503) 947-6300. Minnesotans who want live shipments may contact Chelsey Blanke at (651) 259-5350 or chelsey.blanke@state.mn.us.
Starting January 2024, live crawfish can also be sent to Colorado, though a special import license may be required. If your location fully restricts live shipments, we can send boiled crawfish instead. For assistance, call us at 1-504-655-9972.
Restocking Fee: A 20% restocking fee applies to cancellations made after placing your order.
Handling & Storing Your Swamp Crawfish
- Rinse the sack under cold water when it arrives.
- Place the sack in a cooler with the drain open, covering them with a sealed bag of ice.
- Keep them cool and away from direct sunlight until you’re ready to boil.
Dead-Loss Disclaimer: In colder months and June, you may expect 4–5 lbs dead crawfish per sack due to molting and weather changes. In warmer months, 2–4 lbs is typical. If you receive more than this, please record a video and submit a ticket on our website (photos alone are insufficient).
How to Purge & Boil
Purging:
- Hose down the sack thoroughly to remove surface debris.
- Empty crawfish into a cooler or tub with the drain open and rinse again.
- Close the drain, sprinkle a 16 oz. can of salt, and add enough water to cover them.
- Let soak for 8–10 minutes, then drain and rinse. Repeat if desired for cleaner crawfish.
Boiling:
- Fill a large pot with water, add the included seasoning, and bring to a rolling boil.
- Add your belle river crawfish, return to a boil for about 5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let them soak for 20–25 minutes based on how spicy you like them.
