Premium Turducken with Creole Pork & Cornbread 15 lb

Our customers spoke, and we have listened. Our New Premium 15 pound Turducken is still seasoned with our secret recipe, but is now made with Fresh ingredients, whole duck breasts, and superior packaging.

ALLERGEN INFORMATION: Contains wheat, milk and soy, and pork

Unit Size: 15 lbs. Turducken

Turducken Thawing Instructions: Turducken should thaw thoroughly before cooking. For best results, remove from box and thaw in refrigerator for 48-72 hours.

A cold water bath (be sure to place the turducken and it's packaging inside of a large bag in case of any small holes in the packaging, we wouldn't want the water to dilute the seasoning of the bird) for 8-10 hours works to quick defrost.

Turducken Cooking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Remove Turducken from packaging.

Place the thawed turducken breast side up on a rack in a non stick greased roasting pan

The wings and legs cook faster, so place foil over these 2 areas.

Loosely cover the entire bird with a tent of aluminum foil. (the foil should not be tucked in)

Bake covered with the foil for 2 hours, then uncovered for 1 and a 1/2 hours; or to an internal temperature of 165°F.

Turducken may be basted with butter during the last hour of cooking if desired.

Remove from oven and allow to rest for 45 minutes before serving.

Slicing Instructions: For best results, allow an extra 20-30 minutes “resting time” after removing the Turducken from the oven. This allows the juices to be reabsorbed into the meat. Remove string or netting. If netted, pull netting away from the skin, and cut and remove. First, slice off the wings and legs. Cut the remainder into slices approximately ½” to ¾: thick, slicing from wing to wing, then slice once down the middle.

I’ve been wanting to try a turducken for a very long time. In discussing with our family what to do for Christmas dinner I suggested a turducken. To my surprise the whole family said “Yes!” Last night we had our Christmas feast and let me tell you the turducken was the star of the show. My 7 year old grand daughter couldn’t get enough of the duck meat. The stuffing was sublime! Many in our family have wimpy palettes, and they all thought the spice was spot on. Later in the evening we all commented on how great we all felt, very full but not uncomfortable as you do when you eat a big prime rib or beef tenderloin. We had a bit of stuffing left over and my creative son in law said he’s going to make hush puppies out of the left over. Imagine that, hush puppies with wonderful little bits of turkey, chicken, and duck in them. Yum! Turducken will most certainly be on our Christmas meal rotation going forward. And we will only buy from the Cajun Grocer!

There were 4 of us for Christmas dinner. We are still eating the turducken tonight Wed! It is delicious and satisfying and not our first one. I recommend it to anyone who loves good food that is really simple to cook!

What can I say... this is my 3rd year with the fine folks & products. Whatever turducken you choose, believe me, it will be AWESOME. Don't fear the turducken, embrace it and share it with everyone you know! You wont be sorry! We have always cooked according to directions, however, this year we chose the Turducken with Creole Pork & Cornbread, and I did it in the smoker, low & slow. 200 degrees (we had it for Christmas dinner & it was a bit chilly that day) a mix of hickory & maple. 8 1/2 hours later, we all were treated to the most exquisite turducken ANY OF US had ever had! And mind you, several at the table are turducken veterans. Its a tradition that started a a few years ago, and we have no plans to stop any time soon!!!!

If you're on the fence about this purchase, just pull the trigger! I promise you won't regret it! I made one of these for Thanksgiving, and it was the star of the show! My in-laws ordered one of these for me to make on Thanksgiving, and I thought it sounded mediocre at best. For some reason I thought the idea of a "pre-made, frozen, fedex-shipped, Turducken" didn't sound good. I didn't have high expectations, but I was proven wrong! This was absolutely perfect in every way! It was very tender and moist, and the filling is something worth writing home about! The subtleness of the cajun spice is perfect! Some family members can't stand anything with even the slightest heat/spice, and none of them had an issues with the 'spicy cajun seasoning' used in/on this turducken. The drippings from this thing made some of the best gravy I've ever made! I'll definitely be back to order another for special occasions.

Turducken arrived in plenty of time for the Holidays. I baked it according to the instructions and it turned out perfect. My family really enjoyed it, not many left overs! Will definitely order from the Cajun Grocer again.

This was my 5th year of Turducken, I have a Friendsgiving Party every year with 35+ of my closest friends and a Turducken :) This year the truducken fell somewhat apart when I unwrapped it for cooking. Most of the stuffing fell out and the chicken/duck became dislodged. I was able to cook it anyhow and as always it came out delicious! But I would prefer it all stay together as it has in the past. I would have given it 5 stars except for this issue. Hoping I don't experience this again.

This was our third or fourth and they are always very good. Be sure to follow the instructions for best results. The stuffing has a little heat, but not overpowering and a nice flavor.

michael 2019-11-14 19:44:08

by the time you get the internal temperature up to 165 degrees, the turkey gets dried out. I did not really like the creole sausage cornbread dressing. The duck and chicken were tasty.

Always a great meal ! They do it just right with great customer service and specials

The Turducken is a family tradition for over 17yrs now. It is great to order one for Thanksgiving even with a small family of 4 or this year we will be hosting over 18 people and we have two plus other meats etc! If you follow the instructions and monitor your turducken, then it will be perfectly cooked, very easy! We love the creole seasoning because it has a nice kick to it but not too spicy if you mix with say our home made cranberry sauce and the cornbread dressing is perfect amount so that you don't have a ton of leftovers.
